Herbs For Gallstones
For many individuals the
non-traditional treatment of medical conditions is their first choice. They
have opted to avoid the more popular choice of medications and even surgery. I
am not here to tell you what is best for you. I would always recommend
consulting a medical professional as the severity of conditions vary from person
to person.
Herbalism
is also known as botanical medicine. It is the use of plants or plant extracts
for medical purposes. Among the conditions that are often treated by herbal
proponents are gallstones. The following are a few of the common herbs for
gallstones.
Ginger root
is a natural spice. It has been used by Chinese herbalist for over twenty five
hundred years. It has two uses when it comes to the treatment of gallstones.
First it helps to trigger the conversion of cholesterol to bile acids. These
acids help to flush the liver and gallbladder. Secondly, the pain associated
with gallstone attacks can be lessened by using ginger tea in hot compresses.
Another of
the natural herbs for gallstones is Barberry Bark. It has long been used in
traditional medicine. Berberine is a naturally yellow substance contained in
Barberry Bark. It is used for many medical conditions due to it’s
anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial effects. For the purpose of gallstones
herbal treatment it
helps to increase the flow of bile. This further helps in the flushing out of
one’s system.
In future
articles I will discuss many of the other herbs that are available for the
treatment of gallstones. This future discussion will include Chinese herbs for
gallstones. In the meantime I would recommend you learn from Joe Barton how you
can quickly and easily treat
gallstones using an easy to follow system.
